"Emirates Jiu-Jitsu" It will organize 7 tournaments with the participation of thousands of players during the first quarter of 2026

ABU DHABI, 1st April / WAM / During the first quarter of 2026, the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation continued to consolidate the UAE’s global leadership in developing the sport of Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, by organizing 7 major tournaments that witnessed the participation of thousands of male and female players from different age groups, in addition to launching specific initiatives that enhance the societal dimension and support the sustainability of the growth of the game, in line with the “Year of the Family”, and confirms the success of the national project in building a strong generation capable of competing in forums. Continental and global.

The beginning of the year witnessed a strong start, as the Al Ain region hosted the sixth edition of the UAE National Mixed Martial Arts Championship, which formed an important platform for discovering talents and refining the capabilities of players, before the competitions continued in the seventh edition in Dubai, amid wide participation and advanced technical levels that reflected the breadth of the base of practitioners.

The first round of the third edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship for the “Without Suit” category competitions was launched in Dubai, as one of the most prominent stations at the beginning of the season, as it contributed to stimulating competition between clubs and measuring the readiness of players, through an integrated classification and points system that raises the level of challenge and enhances the quality of performance.

On the level of women’s sports, the “Mother of the Nation” Jiu-Jitsu Cup tournament featured a wide participation of female players, with financial prizes amounting to 270 thousand dirhams, where the Baniyas Club was crowned first place, followed by Al Ain Club in second place, and Al Jazira Club in third place, amidst a remarkable public presence and family interaction.

To enhance the societal dimension, the Federation announced the creation of the “Supportive Family Award” within the Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Award, in appreciation of the family’s role in supporting the players’ career and enhancing their commitment, in an initiative that emphasizes the social and humanitarian dimensions of the National Jiu-Jitsu Project.

Mubadala Arena also hosted jiu-jitsu competitions within the Abu Dhabi 2026 Masters Games, with the participation of players aged 30 years and above, in a clear confirmation that jiu-jitsu is a sustainable sport that accompanies a person at various stages of his life, and promotes a healthy lifestyle among members of society.

During the holy month of Ramadan, the jiu-jitsu competitions within the “Hafeet Sports Challenge” witnessed wide participation from club and academies players, as Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club won first place, Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club won second place, and Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club won third place.

The Nad Al Sheba Sports Championship (NAS) also witnessed the participation of elite players, as the fights were characterized by high technical levels and close competition. Baniyas Club was crowned champion of the adult category, followed by Al Ain Club in second place, then MOD Academy in third place.

The Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Ramadan Championship “Al Wathba 2026” came to enhance the presence of jiu-jitsu in society during the holy month, with wide participation from different age groups, in a clear reflection of the broadening of the practice base and the continued momentum of the game on various occasions.

His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, said that the results of the first quarter of 2026 reflect the amount of continuous work to develop the sport of Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts in the country, as tournaments have become effective platforms for refining players’ skills and enhancing their readiness for various competitions.

He added that organizing 7 tournaments within a short period of time, with the participation of thousands of male and female players, confirms the broad base of the game, and the pivotal role played by clubs and academies in supporting the development process, pointing to the increasing presence of families in various tournaments, which strengthens the connection of jiu-jitsu with society.
