With the participation of the Minister of Sports… The Emirates Council for Balanced Development launches the (50×50) initiative in Masfoot

Masfout, 5 April / WAM / The Emirates Council for Balanced Development launched the “Steps and Memories (50 x 50)” initiative yesterday, in the Masfout area in the Emirate of Ajman, as part of its efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and consolidate the concepts of quality of life in the villages of the Emirates.

The initiative was launched in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Kaabi, Secretary General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, along with a number of officials and people of the region, in confirmation that reflects interest in supporting initiatives that enhance public health.

The Council stressed that the initiative aims to encourage members of society, especially senior citizens, to adopt active lifestyles as a daily method, through a community experience that enhances the spirit of interconnectedness and positive interaction among members of society, which confirms the importance of qualitative initiatives in creating a sustainable impact on the level of public health and quality of life.

The initiative brought together participants from the age group (50+) in a 1.5-kilometre “community walk,” which started in front of the Masfoot Museum along the natural paths that characterize the region, in a scene that reflects community cohesion and embodies the integration of efforts aimed at promoting a culture of physical activity in local environments.

The Council said that the initiative comes as a continuation of the Council’s efforts to enhance the sustainability of societal impact, which recently culminated in the signing of a cooperation agreement with the “Abu Dhabi 2026 Masters Games”, with the aim of developing an integrated community system for physical activity, measurable and sustainable, with broad community participation, in line with national priorities in the areas of health and quality of life, and contributes to supporting the transformation towards healthier and more active communities in the Emirati villages and regions.

He pointed out that the geographical nature of Masfoot, with its mountainous terrain and open paths, contributes to providing a suitable environment for practicing outdoor activities, thus enhancing people’s connection with their natural surroundings.

The Council explained in its statement that the initiative is one of the initiatives implemented by the Council with the aim of empowering local communities, enhancing the quality of life, and consolidating the concept of health as a sustainable lifestyle, in a way that supports the state’s goals in building active and healthy communities, and reflects the role of villages as a primary focus in achieving balanced development at the economic, social, cultural and tourism levels.

It also contributes to highlighting the natural and tourism capabilities of the Masfoot area, and enhancing its position as a distinguished destination for community and sports activities, within the framework of an integrated vision linking health, tourism and community development.
