An Israeli air strike kills 4 Palestinians in Gaza

Health authorities in Gaza said that an Israeli air strike killed four Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip on Sunday, in the latest violence to cast a shadow over the fragile ceasefire, amid new efforts by mediators to consolidate the agreement.

Medics said that the air strike targeted people on Jaffa Street near the Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City, killing four people and wounding others.

The Israeli army said that its forces in the northern Gaza Strip targeted and killed members of a Palestinian armed cell who were operating close to the soldiers and posed a direct threat to them.

The Gaza Ministry of Health says that Israeli fire has killed at least 700 people since the beginning of the ceasefire. Israel says that four soldiers were killed by gunmen in Gaza during the same period.
