Etihad Airways launches flights to Dhaka next June

Abu Dhabi, April 8, 2026 – Etihad Airways announced today the launch of a seasonal service to Dhaka, Bangladesh, starting June 26, 2026, to strengthen trade and shipping links through the South Asia Corridor.
According to Etihad Airways, the service, which operates four flights weekly to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, will enhance air connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Bangladesh, in support of the continued expansion of cargo flows along with the demand for passenger flights across the global airline network, as Abu Dhabi serves as a major gateway for trade between South Asia and international markets.
The service will be operated on Boeing 777 aircraft, with 28 seats in Business Class and 374 seats in Economy Class, providing ample cargo capacity on the wide-body aircraft.
The service is part of Etihad Airways’ gradual plan to rebuild and expand its network, while providing capacity in proportion to demand in key markets.
Antonualdo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said: “Dhaka is a strategically important market with strong and sustained demand for both the passenger and cargo sectors, and this service allows us to provide capacity where it is needed most, strengthening links between Bangladesh, the UAE and key global markets.
The UAE is home to one of the largest Bangladeshi communities in the world, and the new service will provide direct flights for families, in addition to seamless connecting flights via Abu Dhabi.
The seasonal service will provide connecting flights to large Bangladeshi communities in the United Kingdom, Italy and North America, where they will be able to travel via Abu Dhabi to Dhaka with ease. This line will serve passengers between Abu Dhabi and Dhaka, in addition to passengers who have connecting flights to other destinations.
