Al-Ula is shortlisted for the World Production Awards category "Film City"
The Al-Ula is among the finalists in the category "Film City 2026"within the Global Production Awards 2026, organized by the magazine "Screen International" Specialized in the film industry, in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival, in a step that reflects the increasing presence of AlUla on the global film production map.
These awards are considered among the most prominent international professional awards that honor excellence in filming locations, production infrastructure, and film cities, with the participation of an elite group of filmmaking experts in the world, which gives it a significant position within the global cinematic sector.
AlUla’s arrival in the final list reinforces its position as an attractive destination for filmmakers, in light of its Unique natural features and geographical diversity contributed to transforming it into an open filming location that attracts production companies from all over the world.
Filming local and international works
Over the past years, AlUla has witnessed increasing activity in the film production sector, as it hosted the filming of a number of local and international works in the fields of films, programs and visual productions, taking advantage of its diverse environment and exceptional terrain.
It includes an initiative "AlUla movie" Affiliated with the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, it is an integrated studio complex, which is considered a regional center for the film and television production sector, and provides advanced services that support the various stages of production.
This comes within the strategy of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, which aims to enhance the presence of the preservation on the map of international productions, and provide the opportunity for filmmakers to discover unique filming locations that combine picturesque nature and ancient historical heritage.
