The Dubai International Financial Center launches a package of economic facilities to support customers

DUBAI, 9 APRIL / WAM / The Dubai International Financial Center announced the launch of a temporary economic facilities package with the aim of supporting and assisting the business and retail community in the center in managing its operations as the region emerges from the current conditions.

According to a press release issued today, these measures, which took immediate effect, aim to alleviate short-term operational and financial pressures on the centre’s business and retail sectors.

In this context, His Excellency Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of the DIFC Authority, said that the DIFC is always keen to stand by customers, partners and employees based on its responsibility and firm commitment to providing support and reassurance in times of greatest need. The temporary economic facilities package that we are providing reflects a thoughtful and proactive approach to alleviating the current pressures, as well as enhancing the strength, flexibility and sustainability of the DIFC system in the long term. We are confident in the foundations that our society has and its ability to emerge from… These conditions are stronger and better than before, which in turn ensures that Dubai continues its path to strengthen its position as one of the most prominent global financial centers.

Initiatives launched by the DIFC Authority include flexible payment plans for the retail and trade sectors, installment plans for license renewal fees, and additional support for retail and shopping stores.

Grace periods will also be granted on some administrative payments related to lease contracts, the Registrar of Companies, the Data Protection Department, and the registration of employees in the Centre’s Workplace Provident Fund Scheme (DEWS).

Furthermore, the Dubai Financial Services Authority has launched temporary regulatory facilities to support new companies seeking a license and companies subject to regulatory supervision in the DIFC.
