"Umm Hamda Council" Enhances mothers’ awareness of family crisis management

Al Ain, April 13 / WAM / The Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Center organized lectures entitled “My Mother, the Safe Haven in the Face of Crises”, as part of the “Umm Hamda Council” initiative during the past week, highlighting an inspiring model of the mother’s role in creating reassurance and building psychological stability within the family in times of challenges.
The session was moderated by a group of council members, including Counselor Moza Al Qubaisi, Salma Al Ketbi, Kannah Al Nasiri, and Noura Al Rashidi. The speakers discussed the role of the mother as the first line of defense for achieving psychological balance in the family, and the source of safety that children resort to in moments of anxiety and turmoil.
The session aimed to enhance mothers’ awareness of their pivotal roles in managing family crises, and to provide them with psychological and educational tools that help them contain their children and direct their feelings in a positive way, in addition to developing the family’s ability to adapt to changes, and building psychological resilience that enhances its cohesion and stability.
The discussion covered a number of fundamental topics, most notably the role of the mother as a psychological refuge, managing children’s feelings during crises, building psychological resilience within the family, and the role of the mother in managing family crises.
In light of the Center’s efforts to consolidate community awareness, last week included a lecture presented by Moza Al-Shoumi entitled “How to Become a Global Citizen?” during which she addressed the concept of the global citizen as a person who possesses comprehensive human awareness, respects cultural diversity, and contributes responsibly to serving his community and the world.
It also reviewed the characteristics of a global citizen, which are awareness of global issues, cultural openness, entrepreneurship, shared responsibility, and commitment to noble human values.
She touched on the role of the family in raising the global citizen by instilling the values of tolerance and respect, developing cognitive curiosity, and enhancing the spirit of initiative among children. She also discussed the challenges facing families in this aspect, stressing that the global citizen does not live for himself only, but rather lives for his country, the world, and humanity.
