“Desert Vipers” includes 4 Emirati players in the roster of the “Guyana Super League International Cricket League”

Dubai, April 13 / WAM / The Desert Vipers club announced the participation of four Emirati players on its roster participating in the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (T20) cricket tournament, scheduled for next July, with Australian Chris Green appointed as captain of the team, which also includes New Zealander Darryl Mitchell.

Tom Moody, Director of Cricket at Desert Vipers, stressed that the team’s participation in the tournament is an important opportunity to enhance the club’s global presence and give the Emirati players valuable international experience, noting that the participation of Sanjay Bahal, Matiullah Khan, Vritia Aravind, and Khuzaymah Bin Tanveer, champions of the fourth season of the DB World International T20 League, came with the aim of supporting their technical development.

Modi said that including the four Emirati players was a priority for the team, explaining: We did not hesitate to include the four Emirati players in a list of 14 players, with the aim of giving them international experience and rewarding them for their performance under our supervision.

He pointed out that forming the list was not easy in light of the tournament coinciding with the local season in England and Wales and international commitments, stressing the management’s keenness to include players who had previously represented the “Desert Vipers”, in addition to available elements, especially from the Caribbean region, to ensure technical harmony.

Modi explained that the participation of the four Emirati players is a fundamental focus of the team’s goals, noting that this opportunity will contribute to their development and give them more professional opportunities in international tournaments.

He added that Khuzaymah bin Tanveer had already gotten the opportunity to participate in the Pakistan Super League with the Karachi Kings team, after his brilliance in the fourth season of the DB World International T20 League, hoping that participation in the Guyana Championship would open new horizons for the rest of the Emirati players.

Modi announced the appointment of Australian Chris Green as captain of the team, praising his extensive experience in international cricket tournaments and his numerous participations in the Caribbean region, stressing that his leadership experience and knowledge of stadium conditions there represent an important addition to the team.
