It also formed a high-level strategic platform for dialogue and exchange of experiences, which supports qualitative partnerships and expands areas of economic cooperation between the two sides.

Her Excellency Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the General Women’s Union, said in her keynote speech during the UAE-China Business Promotion Conference that the conference reflects the spirit of the growing partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the friendly People’s Republic of China, where shared ambitions are transformed into tangible achievements, and opportunities are translated into sustainable success stories.

She added that Emirati-Chinese cooperation in the field of women’s empowerment is an extension of this vision in building qualitative strategic partnerships that elevate the role of women as an essential partner in shaping development paths and shaping the future, and based on the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, the Union continues to consolidate this approach through advanced international initiatives and projects that transform women’s empowerment into an effective and influential economic presence.

She pointed out that the UAE-Chinese Women’s Entrepreneurship Council reflects the level of maturity in bilateral relations, as cooperation advances to sustainable institutional platforms that contribute to enabling women entrepreneurs to play a more influential role in the global economy.

For her part, Her Excellency Counselor Amna Al Hammadi, Deputy Ambassador of the UAE to the People’s Republic of China, said that UAE-Chinese relations represent an advanced model of a partnership based on trust, respect and a shared vision for comprehensive development, and the empowerment of women is at the heart of this cooperation as they are an essential partner in shaping the future and creating opportunities.

She added that through platforms such as the Emirati-Chinese Women Entrepreneurship Council, we are working to transform this rapprochement into practical initiatives and qualitative partnerships that enhance the exchange of experiences and open broader horizons for cooperation in the fields of innovation and the new economy, in a way that serves the aspirations of the two countries towards a more prosperous and sustainable future.

For her part, Engineer Ghalia Ali Al Mannai, Head of the Strategic Affairs and Development Sector at the General Women’s Union, said that the Emirati-Chinese partnership in the field of women’s empowerment is an advanced model of economic integration based on innovation and knowledge, and the Emirati-Chinese Women’s Entrepreneurship Council is working to build a sustainable cooperation system that is not limited to connecting female entrepreneurs only, but extends to developing qualitative investment opportunities in sectors of the future, and expanding the scope of its business regionally and globally.

She added that this partnership reflects the UAE’s position as a reliable partner in the international business environment and an attractive destination for investment and growth.

During the summit, the first gathering of the Emirati-Chinese Women Entrepreneurship Council was organized, with the participation of more than 100 strategic partners and women leaders, in a sign that reflects the breadth of institutional cooperation and the depth of partnerships that support women’s economic empowerment.

A number of memorandums of understanding were also signed between the General Women’s Union and leading economic and commercial institutions in the People’s Republic of China, as part of its membership in the Emirati-Chinese Women’s Entrepreneurship Council, which enhances the building of a sustainable cooperation system and opens broader horizons for future partnerships.

As part of the gathering’s work, the Operational Governance Guide for Emirati Women Entrepreneur Councils in friendly countries was launched, as an organizational and operational framework that supports the establishment and management of these councils in accordance with the best corporate governance practices.

The launch of the guide comes in the context of the initiative launched by the General Women’s Union under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, with the aim of enhancing the presence of Emirati women globally and opening new horizons for international economic cooperation.

The People’s Republic of China is the first station in this international trend, as the Emirati-Chinese Women Entrepreneurship Council, emerging within the framework of Emirati Women Entrepreneurship Councils in friendly countries, was established in November 2025, with the aim of establishing a joint cooperation mechanism that contributes to expanding investment opportunities among women entrepreneurs, and strengthening economic partnerships in priority sectors.

This initiative comes within the framework of the “Mother of the Emirates 50:50” vision, which was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the General Women’s Union, to form an ambitious national framework with a global vision that moves Emirati women from the stage of empowerment to the stage of making an international impact.

Based on this vision, the Union works to strengthen international development partnerships as one of its basic foundations, which is embodied today in cooperation with partners in the People’s Republic of China, by building bridges of cooperation based on the exchange of experiences and the integration of opportunities.

This development reflects a growing trend towards establishing institutional cooperation models between the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China, based on continuity of joint work and integration of roles between relevant parties, which enhances the efficiency of bilateral initiatives and ensures the sustainability of their impact in the long term.
