Nicole Kidman turns to serving humanity… away from the spotlight of fame

The Australian star, Nicole Kidman, revealed in press statements, while she was recently at the American University of Francisco, that she plans to work in the future in a humanitarian profession, far from the world of lights, fame and stardom, without specifying whether she will completely retire from acting for the sake of this new profession, or whether she will practice it alongside her international cinematic presence.

The Australian star indicated that she is receiving professional lessons in accompanying the dying, which are people who accompany patients in their last days, whether for medical reasons or as a result of aging, as she will have to provide psychological and emotional support to these people and their families, with the aim of alleviating their feelings of fear and helplessness.

Nicole Kidman said: Her decision comes as a result of her experience, which she described as “bitter when her mother died,” and explained: “When my mother was dying in 2024, she was alone, and there was a limit to what the family could offer.” Between my sister and I, we have many children, our jobs and tasks, and our desire to take care of them after our father is gone. That day, I wished for the presence of these people who cared for the sick and provided support to them and their families in light of the difficult circumstances they were going through. Therefore, I decided to take this step, which I find to be an important human value for myself, and for everyone who feels helpless in this world.” The Australian star stressed that her choice of this humanitarian professional field is an extension of her personal development, and a path in which she aspires to gain experience during the next stage.

In an artistic context, the “Amazon Prime Video” platform announced the start of filming the second season of its police thriller series “Scarpetta”, in which Nicole Kidman played the role of forensic doctor “Kay Scarpetta”, after the great success it achieved thanks to its exciting and mysterious dramatic events in its first season, as the work is scheduled to be released at the beginning of next year 2027.

The first season of the series “Scarpetta” began airing on March 11, and it is adapted from Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling novels around the world, in which the international star plays the role of “Dr. Kay Scarpetta.”

The series, across eight episodes, presents criminal details and complex psychological dynamics, and other stars, alongside Nicole Kidman, participate in the work, including: Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, and Simon Baker.

The dramatic plot that the series will follow in its second season is not yet known, but the writer and executive producer of the series, Liz Sarnoff, confirmed that the events will continue where the first season ended, which heralds the revelation of answers to the questions that have puzzled viewers, most notably the identity of the person who entered the room at the moment when “Kay” was confronting the serial killer.
