We received great news…and things are going very well with Iran

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that there is “good news” about Iran, but he refused to go into details.
Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One during his flight back to Washington from Phoenix, Arizona, saying: “We received good news twenty minutes ago, and it seems that things are going well in the Middle East with Iran.”
Trump added, in response to a question about what this good news is, “You will hear about it. I think it is a necessary, logical step, and I think it will happen. We will see what happens, but I believe it will happen.”
Trump also said that he may end the ceasefire with Iran unless a long-term agreement is reached to end the war by Wednesday, adding: “Maybe I will not extend the ceasefire, but the blockade (of Iranian ports) will continue.”
Earlier on Friday, Trump said that he does not believe that there are many fundamental differences with Iran at the current stage.
Trump also indicated that “there are no longer any sticking points” preventing an agreement with Iran, stressing that the agreement “is very close.”
In a telephone interview with Agence France-Presse, Trump said: “We are very close to reaching an agreement,” adding in response to a question about the outstanding issues: “There are no outstanding points.”
