A remarkable turnout among high school students for the “Leadership Competencies Evaluation”

Statistics from the Ministry of Defense on the progress of the “Leadership Competencies Evaluation” process, which began last Wednesday and is directed to UAE high school students, revealed an increasing turnout by students, as the first day (April 15) recorded the participation of 30% of those targeted, while the percentage jumped on the second day to 55%, which reflects the awareness of Emirati youth about the importance of this step in their national and professional journey.
The Ministry of Defense announced the continuation of the “Leadership Competencies Evaluation” until today, with the aim of measuring and analyzing the leadership capabilities of Emirati youth by evaluating their skills, behaviors and performance in various situations, which contributes to determining their level of readiness for leadership roles. The Ministry of Defense launched the “Leadership Competencies Assessment” directed at male national high school students for the current academic year as part of its efforts to develop a specialized training system that meets the highest standards of national readiness.
The pilot phase of the program began on April 13 and 14, followed by the official phase that continues until today, to ensure the understanding of the students included in the evaluation and provide an accurate and comprehensive measurement environment.
The assessment, which is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, aims to analyze and measure the leadership capabilities and behavioral skills of students by placing them in situations and challenges that simulate reality, which contributes to determining levels of readiness for future leadership roles.
It also aims to prepare a new generation of leaders and specialized national competencies capable of contributing to protecting the future of the nation and ensuring the sustainability of its security. The launch of the assessment also comes in line with the directives of the wise leadership to invest in the capabilities of young citizens by directing them to an integrated path that focuses on developing personal traits, leadership and cognitive skills, analytical thinking and strategic decision-making, and enhancing their readiness to contribute to the military system and national security.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed that the assessment represents an extension of the state’s vision of preparing generations capable of keeping pace with future changes by combining knowledge and application, which opens wide horizons for them to contribute to various areas of national development.
She pointed out that the selection of protectors of the homeland is not done randomly, but rather through a system based on commitment and discipline, which makes this initiative a strategic investment in national readiness, societal cohesion, and military strength.
