A gunman kills 8 children in Louisiana, USA

Shreveport police said that a gunman in Louisiana killed eight children in shootings related to family disputes inside separate homes, early Sunday morning.

Shreveport Police spokesman Chris Bordelon said that the ages of the victims ranged from one year to about 14 years, adding that the total number of people injured by bullets reached 10 people.

Bordelon indicated that the gunman was later killed after a chase by police officers, who shot the suspect.

According to Bordelon, the suspect stole a car while leaving the scene of the shooting incidents, and the police subsequently pursued him.

Officials said they were still gathering details about the crime scene, which spanned across three locations. Bordelon explained that some of the children who were shot were related to the suspect.
He added: “This is a large-scale crime scene, the likes of which most of us have never seen before.”

Louisiana State Police said Shreveport police have asked their investigators to take over the investigation of the case.

State Police called on anyone with photos, videos or information to report it to State Police investigators.
