Preparing The Islamic University of Medina to organize an international scientific conference entitled “Arabic Language and Applied Sciences… Empowerment and Integration,” in strategic partnership with King Salman International Conference Center.

The conference aims to highlight the importance of integrating the Arabic language with applied sciences, language computing, and Artificial Intelligence, and providing an environment for scientific dialogue that contributes to empowering the Arabic language in the fields of applied sciences, with the participation of an elite group of researchers and specialists from more than 15 countries, along with representatives of scientific, linguistic and academic institutions from various parts of the world.

Experienced and specialized people from representatives of linguistic bodies and academies and educational institutions, faculty members in Saudi and international universities, research and study centers, researchers and specialists, and graduate students participate in the conference. and graduates.

A complementary relationship

Through the conference, the Islamic University looks forward to strengthening the complementary relationship between the Arabic language and applied sciences, by exchanging experiences, presenting relevant scientific research, and reaching recommendations that contribute to activating this integration.

The conference also seeks to achieve a number of main goals, including supporting the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in caring for the Arabic language, highlighting the efforts of the Islamic University in serving it, reviewing successful experiences in teaching applied sciences in the Arabic language, and monitoring the opinions of experts and academies. Linguistic and international educational institutions in this field, proposing scientific mechanisms for integration between linguistic and applied disciplines, promoting the use of the Arabic language in artificial intelligence techniques, and developing digital Arabic linguistic resources. Applied.

The conference, as part of its partnership with the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, includes a number of scientific and professional programs, including an accompanying exhibition, dialogue sessions, research contributions, and a scientific symposium on the national policy for the Arabic language, in addition to two specialized training courses.

Statistical Methods

The first session is entitled “Linguistic Models and the Mechanism for Their Construction,” and is intended for faculty members, and is presented by Dr. Abdullah Al-Harbi, Director of Dictionary Computing Department at the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, while the second course is entitled “Statistical Methods for Extracting Lexical Units,” which is intended for students, and is presented by Dr. Yahya Al-Latini, Director of the Linguistic Dictionaries Department at the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language.
