The Strait of Hormuz must remain open

The New China News Agency (Xinhua) reported that Chinese President Xi Jinping called for maintaining the normal passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, during a phone call he made today, Monday, with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Xinhua quoted Xi as saying that China supports an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, and adheres to resolving conflicts in the Middle East through political and diplomatic channels.
