“It is not enough.” Al-Ahly youth coach Souza is motivated to face Japan’s Machida

Shabab Al-Ahly coach, Portuguese Paulo Sousa, expressed his great pride in representing the UAE in the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League for elite clubs, before facing Japan’s Machida tomorrow, Tuesday (20:15 UAE time) at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal City Stadium in Jeddah, indicating that his team is looking forward to continuing the journey and competing for the title.
“Being among the top four teams in Asia is an important achievement, but it is not enough for us,” Souza said during the introductory press conference. Our ambition is to continue and take a new step towards the final.”
He added that the team includes a young group of more than 10 players under 22 years of age, who are experiencing this continental experience for the first time, stressing that this gives them additional motivation to give their best against competitors from different football schools.
Regarding the competitor, he explained: “We are facing a strong team and one of the most prominent candidates for the title. Japanese football is a model of development, and Machida is distinguished by his offensive power and good defensive organization, in addition to his danger in counterattacks.”
Souza stressed the need for high concentration, saying: “We must be a strong opponent, create chances and translate them into goals if we want to qualify.”
