Distinctive numbers lead Al Wahda to the final of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Football Cup

Abu Dhabi, April 21 / WAM / Al Wahda team qualified for the final of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Football Cup, after a distinguished journey characterized by consistency and positive results from the eighth round to the semi-finals, setting up a date with Al Ain team in an anticipated summit to be held on the first of next May at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium, in a confrontation during which Al Wahda seeks to win the title and strengthen its presence in the championship record.

Al-Wahda opened its tournament campaign with a 1-1 draw against Ajman in the first leg of the round of 16, before it succeeded in deciding the second leg in its favor with a score of 4-2, advancing to the quarter-finals, winning the aggregate of the two matches 5-3.

In the quarter-finals, the team tied with Khor Fakkan, 2-2, in the first leg, then won the second leg, 2-1, to reserve a ticket to the semi-finals after prevailing overall, 4-3.

In the semi-finals of the tournament, Al-Wahda achieved a major victory over Al-Jazira by 3-0 in the first leg, and despite losing the second leg by an unanswered goal, it clinched the pass to the final match with a score of 3-1.

According to the report issued today by the UAE Professional League, Al Wahda played 6 matches in the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, during which it achieved 3 victories, tied in two matches, and suffered one loss, and its players scored 12 goals, while conceding 7 goals, confirming the team’s readiness to compete in the upcoming final.

Al-Wahda aspires to continue its positive results in the upcoming final match against Al-Ain, in an effort to win the title, in an awaited confrontation that reflects the strength of the competition in the tournament.
