Starting in July… Trump is the first American president to obtain passports

US President Donald Trump will appear on new passports issued to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the United States in July, a State Department spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

State Department spokesman Tommy Pigot said on the X platform, “As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of its founding in July, the department is preparing to issue a limited number of American passports specially designed to commemorate this historic occasion.”

Never before has a sitting US president appeared on passports.

Piggott republished an article by Fox News Digital showing the new model, which includes on its inner pages a picture of Trump with his signature in gold, in addition to a picture of the Founding Fathers on the day of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

A commemorative gold coin bearing Trump’s image is also scheduled to be issued on this occasion.

Since his return to power, Trump has been named after a number of buildings in the capital, including the famous Kennedy Center Hall and the Peace Institute.

Trump also intends to organize an Indy Car race in Washington between August 21 and 23 as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations.

An official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who requested to remain anonymous, explained that these passports will only be issued in Washington and will be available in a limited quantity only.
