Lady Gaga returns to her bolder color… after 16 years

This time, the music star returns to one of her most famous stages in the world of appearances, surprising her fans with a transformation in hair color that brought to mind her “nostalgia” era more than 16 years ago.

The new transformation appeared in the music video for her song “Runway,” which is included in the music of the movie “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” where she co-starred with rapper Doshi, in a remarkable visual and musical collaboration that brings together two different styles of artistic expression.

In this new work, Lady Gaga appeared with long blonde hair, which graduated to a bright yellow color at the ends, in a clear reference to her famous look in 2010, when she adopted platinum blonde locks with yellow tips, during the era of her album “Telephone.”

This return is not just a revival of an old style, but rather it seems like a rereading of a pivotal period in Gaga’s artistic career, when poetry was an essential part of her artistic personality, and not just an aesthetic detail. The length of the hair reached approximately the waist, giving the look a dramatic character, in keeping with the nature of the visual song.

The boldness was not limited to the hair only, but also extended to the entire appearance. Gaga appeared in various scenes wearing a shiny jacket with a striking geometric design over a wide skirt with large pleats, in a combination of theatricality and visual luxury.

As for the most exciting accessory; It was a metal hat with an unconventional design in the shape of a hand, with a transparent layer hanging from it, extending to the ground, which gave the look a dimension closer to artistic performance than to traditional fashion. In other scenes of the video, Gaga appeared with her hair raised and curly in a blue-green color, with an unexpected look, which included a top piece, designed in the shape of a real ceramic vase, in collaboration with designer Daniel del Valle, from the experimental brand “TheVxlley.”

This type of design reflects the international star’s continued support of experimental fashion, which breaks the boundaries between fashion and contemporary art, where the dress becomes part of a conceptual idea rather than a piece that can be used on a daily basis.

Days before the video was released, Gaga also caught attention during the film’s premiere in New York, where she appeared in a relatively calmer look, but it was not devoid of distinction. She then chose a low, tight ponytail with a deep side parting, in a style inspired by the nineties of the last century, while the dark roots of the hair emerged as an intentional visual element, giving the look a realistic, not artificial, character. She completed her look with a black dress from the Saint Laurent archives, characterized by a straight design at the top, and a skirt that gradually widened in a “mermaid” style, which added a balance between simplicity and luxury. She also chose relatively calm makeup, based on black eyeliner and earth-colored eye shadow, with natural lips, which allowed the hair and dress to be the main focal point.
