He pointed out that this year’s Hajj season will witness lower temperatures than recorded in previous years, but they will remain at relatively high rates due to it falling at the end of the spring season.

He expected that temperatures will begin to record more moderate levels starting next year, with chances of rain during the spring seasons in the coming years.

Highest historical temperatures

The official spokesman for the National Center of Meteorology stated that the year 2024 AD recorded the highest temperatures in fifty years in the Holy Mosque in Mecca, reaching 52 degrees Celsius in the shade during the first day of Tashreeq.

Al-Qahtani added that the National Center of Meteorology It is customary to announce the detailed weather situation for the Hajj season on the first of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah of each year, after holding coordination workshops with the authorities concerned with field and construction works in the Holy Sites, with the aim of reviewing the most prominent features of the weather and possible weather phenomena, and raising the level of preparedness to ensure the safety of the guests of God.

He stressed that weather forecasts during the coming seasons indicate relative stability in the atmosphere compared to previous seasons, which contributes to improving the pilgrims’ experience and enhancing the efficiency of operational planning for the service sectors, which supports public safety objectives.
