Sharjah Women’s Sports concludes the Specialized Schools Championship for Basketball and Volleyball

Sharjah, April 29 / WAM / The Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation concluded the finals of the Specialized Schools Championship in basketball and volleyball, which was held on the 28th and 29th of this April, at Al-Raqqa Group Games Centre, after a preliminary stage held last February, which witnessed competitions between a number of public and private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah on the foundation’s club courts, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
In the basketball competitions, Al Resalah International School won first place in the category (8-9 years), followed by Sharjah Model School for Girls, while Asma School for Basic Education came in third place. In the category (9-10 years), Asma School for Basic Education achieved first place, followed by Sharjah Model School for Boys, while the Emirati American School registered its presence among the advanced positions by obtaining third place.
As for the volleyball competitions, Al Manar School won first place in the second round, while Fatima Al Zahraa School took first place in the third round, followed by the Emirati American School.
Al-Yazia Al-Suwaidi, Head of the Technical Preparation and Follow-up Division at the Foundation, confirmed that the tournament represents part of the Specialized Schools Initiative, one of the Foundation’s main projects, noting that the step contributes to spreading sports culture, diversifying the games practiced in schools, discovering the abilities of female students, and directing them towards the appropriate path.
