The Sharjah Chamber discusses cooperation prospects with the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce

Sharjah, 14 July / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed with the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce the prospects for developing joint economic and commercial cooperation and activating the role of the private sector in both the Emirate of Sharjah and the Republic of Brazil to stimulate the movement of intra-regional trade and mutual investments within the framework of the Chamber’s continuous efforts to build solid economic bridges that support the local business environment and open new investment outlets for businessmen in Sharjah in the promising Latin markets in line with the ambitious economic vision of the emirate based on diversification and innovation.
This came during a meeting held today at the Chamber’s headquarters, which brought together His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with a delegation from the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, headed by Mohamed Murad, its Secretary-General and Head of its International Relations Office, in the presence of Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director General for the Communication and Business Sector, in addition to a number of officials from both sides.
The meeting discussed paths of economic cooperation between the business communities in Sharjah and Brazil and the role of the two chambers in activating intra-trade and expanding mutual investments.
It included a comprehensive presentation of the integrated services provided by the Sharjah Chamber and its specialized bodies to support the business community and advance the private sector, and the initiatives and programs it implements to develop its commercial relations with various markets around the world.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais received an official invitation to participate in the fifth edition of the Arab-Brazilian Economic Forum scheduled to be held in the city of São Paulo next August 25, jointly organized with the Union of Arab Chambers and under the auspices of the League of Arab States. It will be held this year under the slogan “The global economy in transformation – a new agenda between Brazil and the Arab countries” with the aim of consolidating the bonds of bilateral relations and consolidating partnerships between the private sector in both regions.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais stressed the depth of the economic and historical relations between the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular with the Republic of Brazil and its business community, pointing out that these relations are witnessing continuous growth that reflects the common desire to build sustainable investment partnerships that achieve mutual interests.
He explained that the Chamber is keen to provide all means and opportunities that enable the private sector in the emirate to expand its business internationally and to introduce the competitive advantages and facilities offered by Sharjah as a leading global destination for investment in the sectors of industry, innovation and logistics services.
He added that the Sharjah Chamber seeks, through participation in economic forums and organizing trade missions, to consolidate Sharjah’s position as a major gateway for trade and investment in the region, thus contributing to advancing sustainable economic growth, supporting the development process based on innovation and knowledge, and increasing the private sector’s contribution to shaping the economic future of the emirate.
For its part, the Brazilian side praised the pioneering role of the Sharjah Chamber in supporting the business community and developing foreign partnerships, pointing out that the Arab-Brazilian Chamber is working according to a clear strategic vision to be an influential player in diversifying and developing trade and joint investment to make the Arab countries among the largest trade partners of Brazil, stressing that the active presence of representatives of the Chamber and its regional offices represents a basic pillar for activating this strategic partnership with the Sharjah Chamber and building direct and sustainable trade links between the business communities on both sides.
It is worth noting that the Sharjah Chamber is strengthening its initiatives based on a strategic vision aimed at empowering the local business community and enhancing its competitiveness on the international scene, as the Chamber works to provide interactive platforms and integrated smart services that open up broad horizons for the emirate’s companies to reach new and promising markets around the world.
The Sharjah Chamber and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce have a close relationship that was embodied in mutual visits and joint events that contributed to raising the level of economic cooperation and introducing investment opportunities in various strategic sectors.
