Abu Dhabi, July 14 / WAM / The “Mother of the Emirates Endowment for Orphans” campaign, by entering the Guinness Book of World Records for the category “Largest amount collected for an endowment campaign for orphans in one month,” embodies the solid humanitarian approach established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” in consolidating the values of giving and community solidarity.
His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Secretary General of the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation, confirmed that the “Mother of the Emirates Endowment for Orphans” campaign, which succeeded in raising 3.3 billion dirhams in one month, represents a blessed initiative bearing the name of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates,” President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and reflects the status enjoyed by humanitarian initiatives in the UAE, and confirms community cohesion and faith. The importance of supporting the most needy groups, especially orphans, in a way that contributes to preserving their dignity, securing a decent life for them, and enabling them to build their future.
In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, His Excellency said that what distinguishes the campaign is its focus on building humanity by providing sustainable tools that support orphans in the areas of education, health, housing and other basic needs.
He pointed out that achieving this world record in an endowment campaign within one month embodies the UAE’s leadership in humanitarian and charitable work, and reflects the values and culture of giving and community solidarity.
For his part, His Excellency Fahd Abdul Qadir Al Qasim, Director General of the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Management Authority, confirmed that the Authority’s honoring by the Guinness Book of World Records for the “Umm Al Emarat Endowment for Orphans” campaign represents an achievement that reflects the level of community awareness of the importance of endowments and charitable work, and embodies the spirit of solidarity and giving that characterizes the UAE society.
He pointed out that the Authority seeks to establish specialized endowment funds that cover various societal priorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE, in a way that contributes to promoting sustainable development and meeting the needs of society in accordance with the best endowment practices.
