المملكة: The Red Crescent in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region handles more than 202,000 emergency reports

Declared Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Statistics of the emergency reports that it handled during the first half of 2026, as the Command, Control and Medical Transfer Center received the emergency reports, and worked to direct the ambulance teams and follow up on their handling of cases, bringing the total number of reports handled by the Authority to (202,103) reports in the various governorates of the region.

The Authority explained that medical cases constituted the largest percentage of reports, in total. (173,282) sick cases, while emergency teams treated (28,821) cases Traffic accidents and various types of accidents.

Jeddah leads

Jeddah Governorate recorded the highest number of medical cases with (93,108) cases, followed by the Holy Capital with 80,963 cases, then Taif Governorate with 28,032 cases, reflecting the increasing demand for ambulance services in the governorates of the region.

Within the framework of specialized ambulance services, The Authority carried out (450) missions via air ambulance, which contributed to the rapid transfer of critical cases to specialized health facilities, ensuring the provision of medical care in a timely manner.

Treatment Pathways

The ambulance teams also initiated (434) cases within the course of a heart attack, distributed by (230) cases in Jeddah Governorate, 173 cases in the Holy Capital, and 31 cases in Taif Governorate, according to approved treatment paths aimed at reducing arrival time. To specialized centers and increase the chances of survival.

With regard to stroke, the Authority dealt with (465) cases, (228) cases in Jeddah Governorate, 187 cases in the Holy Capital, and 50 cases in Taif Governorate, within an integrated system that ensures speedy diagnosis and transportation during the golden time of treatment, which contributes to reducing complications and raising the chances of recovery.

Volunteer Teams

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the region confirmed Makkah Al-Mukarramah is preparing for the summer season, by enhancing the spread of emergency teams and volunteer teams in locations that witness a large number of visitors and hikers, most notably the Grand Mosque, the waterfront in Jeddah Governorate, and Al-Ridf Park in Taif Governorate, in addition to supporting the Command, Control and Medical Transfer Center and emergency teams with the necessary cadres and mechanisms, ensuring speed of response and raising the quality of the ambulance services provided.
