"Google" Launches a project to establish its first data center in Austria

Vienna, 3 May / WAM / Google has begun construction of its first data center in Austria, on an area of 50 hectares in the state of Upper Austria, with an operational capacity of 150 megawatts, to meet the growing demand for cloud computing services and artificial intelligence solutions.
The new data center will operate with zero-carbon energy by 2030, relying on solar energy, photovoltaic systems and the reuse of heat generated by servers in industrial processes and district heating networks.
The project represents a huge boost to innovation and digital infrastructure in Austria, in addition to providing thousands of jobs indirectly in the construction sector, and about 100 direct jobs for highly qualified engineers and technicians.
The project represents an important strategic step to strengthen Austria’s position and capabilities at the European level, as an advanced economic center in the fields of technology, cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
The project is mainly based on educational partnership and close cooperation with universities, developing curricula and artificial intelligence certification programs, to ensure the training of the necessary technical personnel.
