Saqr Ghobash: The unification of the armed forces is a turning point that strengthened the Union’s journey and preserved its gains

Abu Dhabi, 5 May / WAM / His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Chairman of the Federal National Council, affirmed that the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces represents a pivotal historical milestone in the path of the UAE, and reflects the depth of belief in the experience of unity and common destiny, and embodies the vision of the founding fathers, may God bless them, on the importance of having a unified national force that protects the union and preserves its sovereignty and gains.

His Excellency said that the decision to unify our armed forces formulated a national doctrine in which strength is inseparable from wisdom, and readiness from responsibility. Over five decades, our armed forces have been a living embodiment of the meaning of union in its finest form: discipline in performance, steadfastness in stance, and unchanging loyalty.

His Excellency added, in a speech on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, which falls on May 6 of each year, that the decision to unify the armed forces constituted a qualitative leap in building the modern state, and established a national doctrine based on combining strength and wisdom, readiness and responsibility, so that the armed forces became, over five decades, a model of discipline, efficiency, and loyalty to the homeland and its leadership.

On this occasion, His Excellency raised the highest expressions of loyalty and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” and to their brothers, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Court.

He added that this glorious national occasion calls for remembering the immortal achievements of the Founding Fathers, foremost of which is the establishment of capable and effective Emirati armed forces that assume the responsibility of protecting the edifice of the Union and enhancing the security and stability of the nation, in a way that consolidates the position of the Emirates and reflects the solid determination of its people.

His Excellency pointed out that today our armed forces have become a strong shield that protects the gains of national development, in light of the belief of the wise leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, “may God protect him,” in the importance of having a force that protects the national gains, a force that preserves and protects and does not attack, believes in civilizational and humanitarian values, and harnesses its expertise and all its resources to achieve its national goals.

His Excellency said that nations are tested in moments of prosperity by their ability to build, and in moments of aggression by their ability to withstand, pointing out that our valiant armed forces have proven their high readiness and advanced efficiency in performing their national duty, and have always been up to the responsibility in protecting the nation and preserving its security and stability.

He added that our country and our armed forces faced various challenges with a doctrine that derived its strength from belief in the justice of the cause and sincere belonging to this nation, which contributed to thwarting all attempts targeting the security or stability of the Emirates.

His Excellency congratulated the members of the valiant armed forces, the bearers of the state’s values ​​and those entrusted with the message of its glory, stressing that the honorable tasks carried out by our forces represent badges of honor that we are proud of and of which the world is proud, in light of the patriotism of the members of the armed forces and their constant willingness to give and give for the sake of the nation and the noble mission of the Emirates.

On this occasion, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash expressed the great pride of all members and women of the Federal National Council and the people of the nation in the martyrs of the Emirates, and the greatness of their sacrifices, bravery and bravery, praising the immortal stances they wrote on the pages of glory, and directing greetings to the families of the martyrs, stressing that they are the sons of every home in the nation, and a badge of pride and crowns of glory, from whose fragrant lives generations will be inspired by the values ​​of patriotism, sacrifice and belonging.

At the conclusion of his speech, His Excellency said: “May God have mercy on those who founded and built, and may God protect those who protect and preserve. The Emirates will remain, as its leaders wanted it to be, a safe, strong, and dear homeland, guarded by the eyes of God and protected by the arms of its children.”
