Angelina Jolie wins again over Brad Pitt. Here are the details

American star Angelina Jolie was able to achieve a new legal victory in her legal dispute with her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, after a Los Angeles court decided to reject a request requiring her to reveal private messages related to the case of the French wine factory, “Chateau Miraval.”

Last Monday, the judge issued a ruling rejecting the Pitt team’s request to obtain 22 letters, considering that they fall within the confidentiality privilege between the lawyer and his client.

The court confirmed that star Brad Pitt did not succeed in proving that this correspondence was excluded from legal protection, in a decision that is consistent with a previous ruling by the Court of Appeal.

However, the judge indicated the possibility of reconsidering the matter if new evidence emerged, stressing that the current data do not support Pitt’s request. The court also rejected Angelina Jolie’s request to impose financial sanctions on her ex-husband, considering that his legal position was not unfounded.

Angelina’s lawyer described the ruling as an “important victory,” noting that trying to view protected correspondence represents a legal violation. On the other hand, a source close to Pitt said that the decision does not prevent the resubmission of the request if additional evidence becomes available, criticizing what he considered to be the withholding of important documents.
