The UAE strongly condemns the terrorist attack with a drone on a commercial ship in Qatari territorial waters
Abu Dhabi, May 10 / WAM / The United Arab Emirates condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack with a drone that targeted a commercial cargo ship in the territorial waters of the sisterly State of Qatar, and caused a limited fire to break out on the ship without causing any casualties.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed, in a statement, that this terrorist attack represents a violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and a threat to its security and stability.
She expressed the UAE’s full solidarity with the sisterly State of Qatar, and its support in everything that would preserve its security and stability.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of Security Council Resolution No. 2817, which stressed freedom of navigation and the refusal to target commercial ships or disrupt international sea lanes, stressing that targeting commercial navigation and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of pressure or economic blackmail constitutes acts of piracy, and constitutes a direct threat to the stability of the region and its peoples and to global energy security.
