المملكة: The Kingdom welcomes the Amman agreement to exchange detainees in Yemen


Welcome The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the agreement signed in the Jordanian capital Amman to exchange detainees in Yemen.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome of the agreement signed today in the Jordanian capital, Amman. To exchange detainees in Yemen, which is a positive development that contributes to alleviating the human suffering of detainees and their families, and enhances confidence and opportunities for security and stability.
The Ministry said in its statement: "The Kingdom appreciates the efforts made by all concerned parties to reach this agreement, and the sincere efforts and generous endeavors made by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in hosting the negotiations over the past months."
He added: "The Kingdom also praises the efforts made by the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross"
She added: "The Kingdom renews its support for all efforts aimed at achieving peace, security and stability, in a way that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people."

The release of 1,750 prisoners

The official spokesman for Coalition Forces "Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen" Major General Turki al-Maliki, signing an agreement to release 1,750 prisoners and detainees from all Yemeni parties and the coalition forces.

The agreement includes the release of 27 prisoners and detainees from the coalition forces, including 7 Saudi prisoners.

Major General Al-Maliki explained that the signing of the agreement took place this evening, Thursday (May 14, 2026 AD) in the Jordanian capital, Amman, in the presence of the negotiating committee of the joint forces, with the participation of the Yemeni parties, and under the auspices of the office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.

Major-General Al-Maliki confirmed that the file of prisoners and detainees is A humanitarian file receiving direct attention from the Joint Forces Command For the coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen until the return of all prisoners and detainees.
