Shakhbut bin Nahyan attends a cultural evening organized by the Ethiopian Embassy in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI, 15 MAY/WAM/ His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, witnessed a cultural evening organized by the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Abu Dhabi.
During the evening, the launch of the Arabic version of the book “The Government of Synergy” by His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, was announced, as part of efforts to enhance intellectual and cultural communication with Arab countries and peoples in the region.
The evening, which was held in Abu Dhabi, was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice, and an elite group of officials and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, in addition to cultural, intellectual and academic figures, and representatives of the Ethiopian community in the country.
Issuing the Arabic translation of the book aims to present the vision of Ethiopia in a deeper way to the Arab world, and to shed light on the values of the Ethiopian government based on inclusion and integration, in a way that supports Ethiopian national interests and enhances its position in the region.
His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan delivered a speech during the evening, during which he stressed the depth of the strategic relations between the UAE and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
His Excellency stressed that the relations between the UAE and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia are deep and close, extending over decades of economic, development and investment partnerships. These relations focus on many vital and developmental areas, noting that cooperation is continuing and growing between the two countries, and reflects the commitment of the leadership of the two countries to enhancing regional stability and common development, and building strategic partnerships that guarantee the interests of their peoples and support sustainable development in the two friendly countries.
His Excellency pointed out that the evening reflects the common values that bring together the two countries, most notably dialogue, understanding and cultural openness.
For his part, His Excellency Jamal Bakr Abdullah, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the country, stressed that choosing Abu Dhabi to launch the Arabic version of the book reflects the position of the UAE as a platform for cultural dialogue and civilizational rapprochement, and its role in supporting intellectual initiatives that enhance understanding between peoples.
He pointed out that Emirati-Ethiopian relations are witnessing rapid growth at various levels, thanks to the guidance and support of the leadership of the two countries, stressing that the UAE is one of the most prominent strategic partners of Ethiopia in the region.
He said that the two countries are linked by historical relations based on mutual respect and constructive cooperation, pointing out that the current stage is witnessing an expansion in areas of cooperation, in a way that achieves the common interests of the two countries.
He explained that the Arabic translation of the book represents a new cultural and cognitive bridge between Ethiopia and the Arab world, and aims to introduce the Arab reader to the modern Ethiopian experience, and the political, economic and development transformations the country is witnessing within a vision based on coexistence, integration and national unity.
