Basic steps to protect the skin from the sun

Strong sunlight is one of the most prominent causes of skin pigmentation and the appearance of signs of premature aging. Therefore, skin care experts advise choosing the appropriate sunscreen according to the skin type to ensure effective protection that is compatible with the daily use of makeup.
In the case of oily skin, it is preferable to use light formulas with a water-based Mattifying Fluid texture, while for dry skin, products rich in moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid are suitable.
It is also recommended to apply a sufficient amount of sunscreen equivalent to the size of two full fingers to cover the face and neck, while waiting about 20 minutes before applying makeup products, to ensure the product is absorbed and avoid clumping.
To renew protection during the day without affecting the appearance, sunscreen can be used in the form of a spray or mineral powder applied directly over makeup.
Regarding the treatment of pigmentation and melasma resulting from exposure to the sun, experts point out the importance of following an intensive nightly routine that helps renew skin cells and restore their freshness.
It is recommended to include vitamin C serum in the morning routine to enhance protection against free radicals when used with sunscreen, while using retinol or kojic acid and Alpha Arbutin at night, which are effective ingredients in lightening pigmentation gradually and safely.
Specialists also emphasize the importance of continuous hydration using products containing ceramides, because of their role in strengthening the skin barrier and protecting it from the effects of high temperature and humidity.
