Mohamed Salah: Liverpool needs to regain its identity

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s English player, sent a strong message on Saturday after the Reds’ resounding loss to Aston Villa.
Liverpool suffered a bitter loss at the hands of Aston Villa 2-4, on Friday evening, as part of the 37th round of the English Premier League.
Mohamed Salah participated as a substitute in the Aston Villa match for the first time after missing two matches due to the injury he suffered during the match against Crystal Palace.
Mohamed Salah wrote through his official account on the “X” platform: “I watched this club move from the stage of doubt to belief in its abilities, and from the stage of belief to the stage of championship. That took hard work, and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.”
He added: “Our collapse in another defeat this season was very painful, and this is not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool return to being the loud, attacking team that opponents fear, and return to being a team that wins championships. This is the style of football that I know how to play, and this is the identity that must be restored and preserved forever. It cannot be negotiated, and everyone who joins this club must adapt to it.”
He explained: “Winning a few matches here and there is not what Liverpool should represent. All teams win matches.”
He continued: “Liverpool will always remain a club that means a lot to me and my family. I want to see it succeed, even long after I am gone. As I have always said, qualifying for the Champions League next season is the minimum, and I will do everything in my power to achieve that.”
Salah will play his last match in a Liverpool shirt after a journey that lasted 9 seasons, against Brentford, the last, next Sunday.
