Emirati Mohammed Obaid participates in managing the match between Haiti and Scotland in the 2026 World Cup

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has assigned Emirati referee Mohammed Obaid Khadem the task of video assistant referee in the match between Haiti and Scotland, scheduled for Sunday, as part of the third group competitions in the 2026 World Cup, which will be managed by a refereeing team led by Algerian Mustafa Ghorbal.
The selection of Muhammad Obaid Khadem (41 years old) came after the advanced level of arbitration he presented during the last period.
This is the eighth time that Emirati refereeing has appeared in the World Cup Finals, while it is the first time that an Emirati referee has participated in the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) team in the World Cup.
