The second ceremony for the opening of the 2026 World Cup… “Simple” with a Canadian identity and the participation of Noura Fatehi

The opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup, organized by Canada, today, Friday, reflected the cultural diversity in the country, and embodied the World Cup model in the form of a mosaic that symbolizes the peoples, cultures and societies that make up the Canadian identity.

The ceremony was simple, like the first one that was held on Thursday in Mexico, and included artistic performances performed by an elite group of international stars, before the match between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the opening of the Canadian national team’s home campaign.
A number of international music stars participated, led by Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Michael Bublé, and Nora Fatehi, along with Ileana, Jessie Reyes, Sanjoy, Vigdream, and William Prince.

The celebration began with a journey across Canada, where the countdown shows moments that reflect the country from coast to coast to coast, and a feeling of warmth and welcome rises, carried by the hearts of the people and their shared enthusiasm, inviting the entire world to be part of this historic moment.
It is noteworthy that the 2026 World Cup will witness the organization of 104 matches in 16 host cities, starting Thursday in Mexico City, and concluding with the final match on Sunday, July 19, at New York Stadium, New Jersey.
