المملكة: Saudi aid: launching the Baskets of Charity project to support food security in Gaza


Launch King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid today in the city of Khan Yunis to support food security in Gaza Strip, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to provide relief to the brotherly Palestinian people in the Strip, in the presence of representatives of international and international institutions, civil society organizations and the media.
The head of the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage – the implementing partner of the King Salman Relief Center in the Gaza Strip – Dr. confirmed. Issam Abu Khalil said that the Baskets of Charity Project does not merely represent the distribution of food aid, but rather reflects an integrated humanitarian message that embodies what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, is offering to help the Palestinian people in various crises and tribulations.
He pointed out that the King Salman Relief Center continued its humanitarian support for the Gaza Since the beginning of the humanitarian crisis, under the generous directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect them.

Continuation of Saudi humanitarian efforts

The Deputy Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Palestine, Sophie Nyirabakwe, stressed the importance of this project in supporting food security for affected families, praising the humanitarian role that it plays. The Kingdom is performing it through the King Salman Relief Center in the Gaza Strip, expressing its appreciation for the continued Saudi humanitarian efforts during this difficult stage.

She pointed out that the initiative reflects the meanings of solidarity and humanitarian partnership, and contributes to supporting the steadfastness of the local community and preserving the dignity of affected families.

Alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people

This aid comes as an extension of the humanitarian role undertaken by the Kingdom through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Centre; To alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people, and to support affected families in light of the current humanitarian crisis.
