Officials: The UAE is strengthening its presence in… "Artemis" To build a sustainable human presence on the Moon

Dubai, May 19 / WAM / Officials at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center confirmed that the UAE continues to strengthen its presence in the global space sector, and consolidate its role as a major partner in developing future space projects, within the framework of the vision of the wise leadership and the country’s strategy aimed at building an advanced and sustainable space sector.

His Excellency Talal Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Vice President of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, said that the Supreme Space Council, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Supreme Space Council, continues to anticipate the future of the sector, and strengthen the role of the UAE as an essential partner in building a sustainable presence for humans outside the planet Earth, in addition to supporting the advancement of science and knowledge through active participation in the “Artemis” program, and working to develop the necessary infrastructure to support a sustainable human presence on the surface of the moon.

For his part, His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, stressed that the support of the wise leadership represents the basic foundation for the continuous development witnessed by the national space sector, noting that the country’s participation in the “Artemis” program reflects the UAE’s commitment to enhancing its presence in major international projects, and consolidating its position as a reliable partner and supporter of innovation and an active contributor to the development of future space sciences and technologies at the global level.

In turn, His Excellency Salem Humaid Al Marri, Director General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, said that the UAE is moving forward, with the support of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, towards enhancing its contribution to the “Artemis” program, through developing the infrastructure that supports sustainable human presence on the surface of the moon, and launching sustainable missions and their supplies, pointing out that the meeting of the Supreme Space Council reviewed the progress achieved in this file, and discussed the next steps to enhance the country’s readiness for the next implementation stages within the program.
