Citizens praise the President’s directive to adopt a national health insurance system

Sharjah, May 20 / WAM / A number of citizens of the Emirate of Sharjah praised the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, to adopt a health system that guarantees the provision of integrated health care and medical services to citizens, and is based on the launch of an integrated national health insurance system that includes all the emirates of the country.

Amna Karam, a former director at Al Kuwaiti Hospital in Sharjah, said that the decision to provide comprehensive health insurance for the country’s citizens is considered one of the decisions that has a positive impact, whether on the level of health services provided in all health sectors or on the recipient of these services, who is the citizen, pointing out that this decision will provide the citizen with multiple options to receive the best treatment, and will raise the ceiling of competitiveness in the levels of health services provided by the private health sectors, expressing her hope for tightening control over fees for services provided by the private health sector.

She added that the decision brought joy to all citizens of the country, as it will be implemented in a comprehensive and thoughtful manner from all aspects, which would provide solutions to many challenges in the field of health services, expressing her pride in the wise leadership of the UAE, which places the Emirati citizen at its utmost importance.

For her part, Dr. Mona Abdulaziz Kashwani thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him” for this generous gift, noting that as a doctor and mother, she sees that the level of health services in the private sector in the country has become very advanced through the great expertise of doctors, pointing out that with this decision, the demand from the country’s citizens for private hospitals and centers will be greater and more freely, which will contribute to supporting the private medical sector and developing it further.

Dr. Keswani pointed out that the level of health services in the UAE, whether in the government or private sector, is one of the highest levels, and there is positive competition that attracts an elite group of surgeons and medical experts from various parts of the world, thanks to the availability of the latest diagnostic and medical devices used in surgical operations, in addition to rehabilitation and post-operative treatment services. Soon the patient, male or female, will not need to travel abroad for treatment or medical tourism, as all the elements of treatment and medical tourism have become available within the country according to the highest international standards and at no cost to the citizen.

He added that this step will be a great incentive for doctors to work and develop in private medical projects, as it reflects great confidence in private medical institutions and their role in serving society.

For her part, Dr. Iman Rashid Dimas Al Suwaidi said that the decision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” to adopt an integrated national health insurance system reflects the extent of our wise leadership’s understanding of the citizen’s needs and its continued keenness to enhance the quality of life and community health.

She explained that, as a doctor, she understands the importance of health insurance for citizens of different age groups because it represents psychological stability, reassurance, and a guarantee of the provision of health care and quality in providing treatment for various cases at the level of the emirates of the country at equal and advanced levels for all citizens of the country, expressing her pride in her homeland, the Emirates, which has created a greater motivation for giving and serving society under the wise leadership that places people and their health at the top of their priorities.

For her part, Badriya Al Ali said that the establishment of a health insurance system at the state level will work to provide high standards and quality of treatment in hospitals and private clinics, which will benefit the Emirati citizen, noting that this decision has warmed the hearts of all the citizens of the country, who were eagerly awaiting it because of its positive effects on their souls.
