Dubai Chamber of Commerce organizes 276 bilateral business meetings in Accra to enhance trade cooperation with Ghana

Accra, 20 May / WAM / The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of the Dubai Chambers, organized 276 bilateral business meetings between companies from Dubai and their counterparts in the Ghanaian capital, Accra, during the first leg of the trade mission led by the Chamber to both Ghana and Ethiopia within the framework of the “New Horizons for External Expansion” initiative aimed at supporting the expansion of local companies towards promising global markets.
Representatives of 19 companies operating in Dubai participated in the trade mission activities in various sectors including automobiles, building and construction materials, electronics, engineering, fast-moving consumer goods, in addition to food and beverages, interior design, mining, oil and gas, in addition to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, printing and packaging, textiles and ready-made clothing.
Salem Al Shamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, stressed the Chambers’ keenness to enhance the prospects for economic and trade cooperation between Dubai and the Republic of Ghana, in a way that serves common development interests and supports the growth of sustainable business partnerships.
He explained that this trade mission contributes to opening new channels of communication and exploring promising investment opportunities for companies operating in Dubai to expand in the Ghanaian market, thus enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector in the emirate and supporting the growth of Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade.
Al Shamsi added that the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Ghana reached 39.6 billion dirhams during the year 2025, recording an annual growth of 60.1%, pointing out that Dubai continued to attract more Ghanaian companies, as 16 new Ghanaian companies joined the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the first quarter of this year, bringing the total number of active Ghanaian companies registered in the chamber’s membership to 225 companies by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
During the mission’s activities, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized the “Dubai-Ghana Business Forum”, with the support of the UAE Embassy in the Republic of Ghana, the Consulate of the Republic of Ghana in the UAE, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Republic of Ghana, and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
The forum attracted 532 participants, including a group of senior officials, business leaders and representatives of local companies interested in exploring partnership and cooperation opportunities in Dubai.
The forum witnessed speeches by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Murad Al Mandoos, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Grace Al Mahmoud Morabi, Consul General of the Republic of Ghana in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Stephen Mizan, President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ghana, and Simon Majidi, CEO of the Investment Promotion Center in Ghana.
During the forum, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce presented a comprehensive introductory presentation that highlighted the diverse economic landscape of the Emirate of Dubai, and reviewed the most prominent competitive advantages that make it an ideal destination for companies and investors wishing to expand into new markets.
This was followed by a presentation by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, which focused on the dynamic trade and investment environment in Ghana, and the importance of its strategic location as a pivotal center for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region.
