"Dubai Culture" divorce "Theater and people" To support theatrical talent and empower the new generation

Dubai, May 20 / WAM / The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, in cooperation with the Dubai National Theater, launched a series of virtual dialogue seminars entitled “Theater and People”, as part of its efforts to support Emirati culture and enhance the presence of performing arts, by discussing the most prominent issues related to the theatrical movement and reviewing creative experiences that reflect the richness of the local cultural scene.

The series witnessed the organization of a session entitled “Discovering Talents”, which was broadcast on the “Zoom” platform, presented by content creator Abdullah Al Shehhi, and hosted by Emirati artist Dr. Habib Ghuloum. The session discussed the mechanisms of discovering theatrical talent in the local community and ways to develop them and hone their capabilities, in addition to reviewing the role of technology and artificial intelligence in facilitating access to creators and discovering them in the early stages.

During the session, Ghuloom shed light on the reality of theatrical talent in the country and the challenges facing young people when they enter the artistic field, whether at the societal or institutional level, in addition to the psychological challenges associated with the fear of failure and weak self-confidence. He also touched on the importance of the contributions of young artists in presenting new visions that reflect the aspirations of society, and the necessity of transforming theater into an open space for all age groups in a way that enhances cultural diversity and enriches the artistic experience.

He stressed the importance of motivating the new generation to engage in theater as a platform for self-expression, pointing to the vital role of cultural institutions in supporting talent through training programs, specialized workshops, and creating an incubating environment for creativity.

Fatima Al Jallaf, Acting Director of the Performing Arts Department at the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, stressed the Authority’s keenness to nurture theatrical talents, enable them to develop their skills, and encourage them to present their works to the public, which contributes to supplying the theatrical movement with young talent capable of enhancing the cultural movement and carrying the message of theater to future generations.

She said that the “Theater and People” series aims to open direct dialogues with creative people and explore the most prominent challenges they face, in addition to providing interactive spaces that contribute to discovering and refining talents in keeping with the rapid cultural and digital transformations in the country.
