The UAE government announces a strategic knowledge partnership with “Mohamed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence”

The UAE government announced the launch of a strategic knowledge partnership to empower government leaders and cadres in the fields of assistive artificial intelligence, with the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, with the aim of enhancing government readiness in developing and adopting assistive artificial intelligence, building capabilities, and responsible adoption of future technology, in ministries and federal government agencies, through executive education and capacity building in assistive artificial intelligence.
The partnership agreement was signed in the presence of Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Assistant Artificial Intelligence Project, and Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, and was signed by Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, President of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, and Professor Eric Zeng, President of the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence.
The agreement comes within the framework of the national program approved by the Council of Ministers, to develop the skills and capabilities of federal government employees in the field of assistive artificial intelligence (Agentic AI), and includes training 80,000 employees from various job categories in the federal government to be experts in the field of assistive artificial intelligence through continuous specialized training, through cooperation with a number of leading national universities and technology companies specialized in this field.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi stressed that the leadership of the UAE places the Emirati person at the top of its development priorities, as he is the basic pillar of the comprehensive development process, and the main driver of modernization efforts and positive change in government work and society.
He explained that the training programs and plans aimed at empowering government work teams with assistive artificial intelligence skills stem from a well-established government approach based on continuous learning and investment in building national capabilities, which enhances the efficiency of government cadres, raises the readiness of institutions to accommodate future transformations, and ensures the sustainability of development and modernization of government work tools.
He pointed out that the UAE is moving according to a clear future vision that aims to consolidate its position as the best government in the world, by developing the government work system, improving the quality of services and procedures, enhancing the efficiency of human capital, and establishing the highest levels of readiness for the future, in a way that supports its leadership in global competitiveness indicators in various sectors.
For his part, Khaldun Khalifa Al Mubarak said that the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” launching the largest government program to train 80,000 federal employees on assistive artificial intelligence techniques and tools, in addition to targeting 50% of the federal government’s services and sectors to rely on these technologies, is a pivotal step in the UAE’s march towards its national strategy for artificial intelligence.
He added that since the founding of the UAE, our leadership has believed that humans are the true wealth and foundation of sustainable prosperity, and artificial intelligence comes to consolidate this principle. A government supported by artificial intelligence is built on more than the technologies it possesses, and its success is based on human competence, trained minds, good governance, and the established values of the government employees who direct it.
He said that as a strategic knowledge partner of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence continues to fulfill its national mission, employing the depth of its research and applied expertise in building the knowledge structure of a world-leading government in the field of artificial intelligence, and its goal remains clear, which is to develop artificial intelligence and disseminate it responsibly and comprehensively in the service of our societies.
For her part, Ohoud Al Roumi confirmed that the strategic knowledge partnership between the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence comes as a translation of the directives of the wise leadership, to develop and adopt models of assistive artificial intelligence in the operations, procedures and services of the UAE government, and constitutes a model for knowledge partnerships between the government and leading national academic institutions, aiming to build capabilities, enhance capabilities and provide government cadres with the knowledge and practical experiences necessary to design and build the new generation of government work.
She said that the partnership embodies the authority’s commitment to translating the UAE government’s directives by building the capabilities of national cadres and developing government human capital, and reflects its continuing endeavor to contribute to enhancing government readiness for the future, by focusing on empowering cadres and talents.
She indicated that the partnership will include all leadership and functional levels, covering the objectives of the largest program of its kind nationally, to build the capabilities of more than 80,000 government employees in the field of assistive artificial intelligence.
The program adopts a practical learning model that focuses on developing, building and managing assistive artificial intelligence models and employing them in developing government work, by providing government employees with a practical and applied understanding of assistive artificial intelligence solutions, including the transformation driven by assistive artificial intelligence, responsible adoption of artificial intelligence, requirements for managing and implementing assistive artificial intelligence, and developing its practical uses in areas of government work.
The program covers several leadership and functional levels, including programs for building executive capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence for government leaders, and focuses on cooperation in supporting the UAE’s strategic directions to adopt assistive artificial intelligence in all areas of work and government services.
