The General Director of Monitoring and Addressing Negative Phenomena, Yasser bin Siraj Bakhsh, explained that the supervisory teams entered the site in the field, and monitored the operation of the activity in random ways without obtaining regular licenses, in addition to A complete absence of health and municipal requirements, and a sharp decline in the level of general cleanliness, with the spread of insects and rodents inside the preparation and storage areas.

Destruction of seized items

The inspection revealed that three rooms inside the site were being used to accommodate workers, in addition to the use of dilapidated and contaminated equipment in the preparation and processing operations in random ways. Large quantities of food and raw materials unfit for human consumption were also seized inside the site, and it was found that they were prepared and stored in A polluted environment and expired materials, which necessitated the immediate confiscation and destruction of all seized items in order to preserve public health.

He pointed out that the field teams confiscated all the equipment and machines used inside the site, while all the seized food items with a total weight estimated at about 9 tons were destroyed, and the site was closed in preparation for completing the regulatory procedures and applying penalties against violators, with the support of the Umm Al Salam Sub-municipality and with the participation of the Ministry of Commerce and the Authority. He pointed out that the campaign comes within the efforts of the Jeddah Governorate Municipality to follow up on violating activities and reduce irregular practices that affect public health, calling on citizens and residents to report any observations through the “Baladi” application or the unified reporting center “940.”
