Abu Dhabi, May 24 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center’s pavilion, at the Doha International Book Fair 2026, displayed more than 500 diverse publications, and achieved distinguished results in terms of sales. More than 1,850 copies were sold, with a growth rate of more than 40% compared to last year’s participation.

The center concluded its participation in the 35th session of the exhibition, which was held from May 14 to 23, 2026, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, along with 515 publishing houses and cultural destinations representing 36 countries.

In its pavilion, the Center displayed more than 500 publications, including 100 new titles from its project publications: “Kalima” for Translation, “Publications” for Arabic Publishing, and the “Insights Series for Research and Studies,” to thought leaders and reading enthusiasts, to inform them of the latest international publications and translations, which included various fields of knowledge, such as literature, science, philosophy, history, and children’s books.

His Excellency Saeed Hamdan Al Taniji, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, said that this participation comes from the center’s strategy aimed at strengthening the status of the Arabic language, introducing Emirati culture, and consolidating the presence of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a cultural and knowledge center, and a major supporter of the cultural and creative industries sector.

He added that the Center was keen to introduce the specific cultural projects it leads, and to open more channels of communication with the cultural audience, publishers and workers in the sector, with the aim of enriching the knowledge of readers, strengthening and supporting the publishing sector, gaining more partnerships that serve to support the Arabic language, translation and content creation, and encouraging everyone to make reading a way of life, in a way that reflects the UAE’s vision of investing in culture and knowledge as two pillars of sustainable development and human building.

The center’s pavilion was visited by Arab and foreign official and cultural figures. It also introduced the literature and culture audience to its pioneering cultural projects, new programmes, and innovative initiatives. It promoted the publications of its projects and presented them to visitors to the exhibition, in addition to introducing them to what the next session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair will include, which will be held from September 13 to 18, 2026.

The Doha International Book Fair 2026 is one of the most prominent cultural events held in the region. This year, it was able to present to the Arab and foreign public, through 910 pavilions, a qualitative cultural program that kept pace with the aspirations of exhibitors, publishing industry, writers, and authors, and its various cultural initiatives and events received great interest from different age groups.
