Interrogation of 41 defendants who were arrested within an organization linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard

The Public Prosecutor, Head of the Terrorist Crimes Prosecution in Bahrain, stated that the Public Prosecution has begun its investigations into seizing the main organization linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the ideology of the Guardianship of the Jurist, which is formed from members of the dissolved Scholarly Council, and which is based on spreading the ideology of the Guardianship of the Jurist and its extremist ideas calling for loyalty to the Guardian of the Jurist in Iran rather than the homeland and its basic systems, for the purpose of the Iranian regime’s interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, through dominating mosques, funerals, and religious seminaries and exploiting Its platforms for spreading thought, along with inflammatory speeches against the interests of the nation, and recruiting members to join that organization to participate in its activities and study the approach of the Guardianship of the Jurist in Iran and spread it in Bahrain, while restricting and terrorizing clerics who oppose the approach of the Guardianship of the Jurist by issuing fatwas against them, marginalizing them, and terrorizing them intellectually, to the point of threatening them with the use of violence, in addition to allowing themselves to collect money and exploit it to support the organization and finance its activity to spread the ideology of the Guardianship of the Jurist and loyalty to the Leader. The highest in Iran religiously and politically, and in inciting the street and committing terrorist acts, riots and sabotage.

He pointed out that the Bahraini Public Prosecution began interrogating the forty-one arrested defendants in the presence of some of them’ lawyers, all of whom were provided with all the prescribed legal guarantees, and ordered their provisional detention pending investigation. It also ordered the disclosure of the confidentiality of their bank accounts and the seizure of them and their money.

He explained that many works were seized that included advocacy of the ideology of the Guardianship of the Jurist, as well as sums of money. Investigations revealed that the accused had committed many crimes affecting the security of the country, the safety of society, and financial crimes. It also revealed in this context that the accused had collected money to finance the organization, some of which was transferred to Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon to support and finance terrorist organizations there. While it was proven that some of the defendants benefited from the money they collected in their private affairs and managing their personal needs, including purchasing gold jewelry, real estate, and cars, and paying their children’s educational costs.

He stressed that the investigations are still ongoing, and the Public Prosecution will issue a statement of its results as soon as it is completed.
