"Dubai Electricity and Water" Working with Etihad Rail to support sustainable transport and smart infrastructure

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Authority, met with the Union delegation headed by Mohammed Abdullah Al Shehhi, Head of the Projects Sector, and Ahmed Lootah, Executive Director of Commercial Affairs. The two sides reviewed the areas of cooperation that are in line with the UAE’s vision for a world-class integrated infrastructure and stressed their keenness to work jointly to set a global standard for low-carbon infrastructure, accelerate the achievement of carbon neutrality goals, and establish a pioneering model for sustainable national development at the global level.
Al Tayer stressed the importance of the railway network as a pivotal enabling factor to support the country’s long-term development ambitions.
He also highlighted DEWA’s extensive experience in the fields of energy and smart technologies, stressing its pivotal role in strengthening Etihad Rail’s position as an essential pillar of logistics and transportation services in the country. His Excellency pointed out that the Authority’s leadership in the fields of solar energy, energy storage, smart grids, and infrastructure supported by artificial intelligence, complements the strategic role of Etihad Rail, which opens promising horizons for integration between sectors, starting with supplying railway networks with clean energy, all the way to developing smart and sustainable transportation corridors and facilities that constitute a pioneering model for low-carbon national development.
