Abu Dhabi Police warns against fake links and pages in search engines

The Abu Dhabi Police General Command warned, within the strategic priority “Proactive Security” and the strategic goal “Readiness to Combat Cybercrime,” of fake links and misleading ads that may appear in search engine results, which fraudsters use to lure users to fake sites and steal their personal and financial data.

She called on the public to ensure the authenticity of websites and use official applications and platforms only when conducting electronic transactions, and not to click on suspicious links or share sensitive data.

She stressed the importance of reporting cybercrimes and suspicious practices via “Aman” on the number 8002626 or via text messages 2828, or via the Abu Dhabi Police smart application, to contribute to enhancing digital security and protecting society.
