المملكة: King Salman Hospital succeeds in saving a diabetic patient’s foot from amputation


A specialized medical team has succeeded in King Salman Hospital, a member of the first Riyadh Health Cluster, saved the foot of a patient who was facing the risk of amputation as a result of advanced complications of diabetic foot, after a series of precise medical interventions and an integrated treatment plan that contributed to preserving the injured limb.

The medical team was led by Dr. Yasser Al-Dabbasi and Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Darwish, where the case was dealt with through a comprehensive assessment and the provision of the necessary specialized care, after the option of amputation of the foot was on the table as a result of the deterioration of the condition and the continuation of complications, despite attempts to clean up.

The patient’s condition improved

The medical efforts resulted in a noticeable improvement in the patient’s condition and the recovery of the foot without the need for amputation, which enabled him to regain his ability to move and practice his daily life normally.

This achievement embodies the competence of the health personnel at King Salman Hospital, and confirms the importance of early detection and continuous follow-up of diabetic patients, in addition to the vital role of specialized medical intervention in reducing diabetic foot complications and improving the quality of life of patients.
