"Beijing International Book"


BEIJING, 18 JUNE / WAM / Yesterday, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to the People’s Republic of China organized a reception for the Emirati-Chinese media dialogue at the UAE Pavilion “Emirati House”, guest of honor at the Beijing International Book Fair 2026, with the participation of an official delegation from the media regulatory authorities in the country and representatives of Emirati and Chinese media institutions.
The organization of this dialogue coincides with the opening of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026, the second largest book fair in the world, and one of the most prominent global cultural and knowledge platforms, as part of the UAE’s efforts to enhance media and cultural cooperation with Beijing and establish the foundations of a long-term partnership between media institutions in the two countries.
The meeting aims to enhance mutual understanding regarding regulatory frameworks and media policies in the UAE, expand professional communication channels between Emirati and Chinese media institutions, explore opportunities for cooperation in the areas of joint media coverage, exchange media experiences and competencies, and develop and produce media content that reflects the depth of the strategic relations between the two countries.
The dialogue also provided an opportunity to inform representatives of the Chinese media about the UAE’s participation program as the guest of honor at the Beijing International Book Fair 2026, and to introduce the cultural and knowledge initiatives presented by the country during the exhibition, which contribute to enhancing cultural and civilizational exchange between the Emirati and Chinese peoples.
Iman bin Humaid, Head of the Media Affairs and Public Diplomacy Department at the UAE Embassy in Beijing, confirmed in her speech during the ceremony that UAE-Chinese relations are witnessing an advanced stage of cooperation and comprehensive strategic partnership, noting that the media represents one of the most important pillars supporting these relations.
She explained that the role of the media went beyond being a means of transmitting news to becoming a partner in building bridges of understanding between peoples and promoting dialogue between cultures, and that the Emirati-Chinese media dialogue represents a platform for deepening mutual knowledge, expanding horizons of professional cooperation, and enhancing trust between media institutions in the two countries.
She pointed out that the UAE and the People’s Republic of China have a common vision based on openness and cooperation, and that strengthening media partnerships between the two sides contributes to conveying success stories and development experiences in a more profound and objective manner, and supporting the growing process of bilateral relations in various fields.
The event witnessed a wide attendance from representatives of media and regulatory institutions in the two countries, including the People’s Daily newspaper, CGTN channel, the Global Times newspaper, Phoenix TV, and the Chinese Arabic channel, in addition to a number of Emirati media professionals, journalists, and content makers participating in the exhibition.
The participants discussed future cooperation opportunities and mechanisms for building sustainable institutional communication channels that pave the way for joint projects in the areas of media coverage, exchange of professional visits, media training and development programs, and joint content production.
Following the dialogue session, the embassy organized an introductory tour for the participants inside the UAE pavilion at the exhibition, during which it reviewed the most prominent components of the Emirati participation and the accompanying cultural and intellectual programs, followed by a professional networking session that brought together representatives of the Emirati and Chinese media.
