Overconfidence and impulsive decisions undermine Trump’s second presidency

A new documentary book titled “Regime Change” highlights (Regime ChangeBy journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, shedding light on the scenes behind the second presidential term of US President Donald Trump, showing how overconfidence, improvisation, and impulsive decisions contributed to obstructing the course of his administration.

According to the Semaphore website, the book, which sparked a state of anticipation and anxiety within the White House prior to its release on Tuesday, reveals sensitive details about Trump’s policies. Most notable is the role of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in leading Trump towards war, as well as his administration’s “disastrous” handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files crisis.

The work also touches on Trump’s personal management of Justice Department attacks against his political opponents, and his ongoing mockery of sycophantic business leaders. The authors point out that the active circle of advisors that the president is currently listening to is led by figures such as veteran Republican strategist Roger Stone.

The book, which documents Trump’s return to power after his exit in 2021, summarizes the president’s style of managing the public political scene with a frank quote in which he calls on his aides to create events, saying: “We need surprising dramatic plots.”
