"Abu Dhabi Culture and Tourism" Publishes a book "Generation treasure" Celebrating the poetic legacy of the founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan

ABU DHABI, June 23 / WAM / The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi issued the book “Treasure of the Generation”, a prominent poetry publication that celebrates the immortal legacy and deep-rooted wisdom of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him.

The book, published by Assouline Publishing House, provides a rare and intimate look at the poetic vision of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed towards life, unity, humanity, and his deep love for the homeland.

Through 118 carefully selected poems and 75 texts translated into English, the book embodies the system of authentic traditions and values that shaped the vision of the founding father, and addresses the themes of leadership, empathy, belonging, tolerance, love, goodness, and beauty, which are values that still form the pillars of Emirati identity to this day.

His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said: The book “Treasure of the Generation” embodies a cultural responsibility as much as it is a literary publication. Through its carefully selected pages, we celebrate the poetic voice of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and we preserve his intellectual and humanitarian legacy that embodied his vision of unity, his deep connection to the homeland, and his firm belief in humanity, and reflects this. His Excellency added that by collecting this poetic legacy in one publication, we seek to strengthen the ties between generations, and to consolidate the values of empathy, belonging, and common humanity that formed the basis of our country’s renaissance. We hope that this book will constitute a timeless tribute to the legacy of Sheikh Zayed, and an extended bridge linking our past, present, and future, and strengthening Abu Dhabi’s role in preserving our cultural heritage and communicating it to the world.

Through this carefully coordinated publication, organized according to the rhyme of the first part of each poem, the words of the late Sheikh Zayed continue to inspire generations with their sublime wisdom and profound human vision. The book also embodies a renewed connection between the nation and the roots of its authenticity, and reflects the presence of poetry and the deepening of literary traditions in the cultural and national identity of the UAE. This publication comes within the framework of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi’s commitment to protecting, preserving the Emirati cultural heritage and enhancing its presence locally. This work was accomplished with the support of national partners, including the Founder’s Office in the Presidential Office as the pivotal platform that highlights the legacy of the Founding Father as a prominent global ruler and leader, ensuring that the voice of the late Sheikh Zayed continues to be a source of inspiration for generations, and enhances the shared national responsibility in protecting the literary heritage of the UAE, in addition to supporting the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language.

In addition to the electronic version of “Kanz Al-Jeel,” the project includes audio poems and a dictionary of Emirati dialect vocabulary inspired by the poems of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him.

The book “Treasure of the Generation” reflects the values of the United Arab Emirates based on cultural exchange and promoting mutual understanding between peoples, as the poem appears in it as a living bridge connecting the past, present and future.
