Fujairah, June 24 / WAM / The Fujairah Government Media Office issued a comprehensive cultural documentary book entitled “Light of Culture… Voice of Knowledge”, documenting the process of cultural and knowledge renaissance that the Emirate of Fujairah witnessed during the period extending from 2007 to 2026, a stage that coincided with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi assuming the Crown Prince of the Emirate, and the accompanying integrated cultural vision and continuous support for knowledge projects and initiatives that contributed In consolidating Fujairah’s position on the map of culture and creativity in the UAE and the Arab world.

The book is 160 pages long, and was published in Arabic and English. Its entire content was translated to make it useful to readers, researchers, and those interested in cultural affairs inside and outside the country, and to enhance the presence of the cultural experience of the Emirate of Fujairah at the international level.

The publication reviews the most prominent cultural achievements, institutions and initiatives that contributed to building the knowledge society, by documenting the journey of cultural, media and educational institutions, and the intellectual, literary and artistic events that Fujairah has hosted over nearly two decades. It also monitors the qualitative transformations witnessed by the cultural sector and their repercussions on societal development, strengthening national identity, and openness to different human cultures.

The book begins its pages by documenting the special dialogue conducted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, within the activities of the annual meetings of the government of the United Arab Emirates, in which he reviewed the most prominent features of the cultural and societal stage that Fujairah is experiencing, and the work mechanisms of the various institutions that formed an integrated system that contributed to building a broad and comprehensive knowledge project.

The book also addresses the pivotal role played by cultural institutions in the emirate, most notably the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, in addition to specialized cultural initiatives, publishing houses, libraries, and intellectual forums that contributed to enriching the cultural scene locally and regionally.

It also documents the development of the cultural scene, which witnessed the birth of qualitative institutions and projects that left a clear impact on the Arab and international arenas, including the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, the Al Badr Festival, the Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Council, the House of Philosophy, the Fujairah School of Calligraphy and Ornamentation, the House of Arab Poetry, the Fujairah International Children’s Book Fair, and the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra, in addition to many initiatives and programs that contributed to consolidating the emirate’s position as a center for creativity and knowledge.

His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Emiri Diwan in Fujairah, confirmed in his introduction to the book that the features of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Cultural Project through deep thinking, knowledge and an extensive feasibility study; To be the result of a leadership awareness that sees culture as the fulcrum from which every path towards the future begins.

He added: During the past twenty years, the Emirate of Fujairah has witnessed, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, a cultural renaissance with distinct features, a renaissance that is not based on rhetorical display or passing celebrations, but rather on establishing institutions, creating programmes, nurturing talent, and building collective awareness on solid ground. This renaissance was only an extension of the state’s approach, which made culture an integral pillar of its civilizational journey. However, Fujairah has Its specificity shaped its presence and placed it today in an inspiring position in both the Emirati and Arab cultural scene.

The Fujairah Government Media Office indicated that the book “Light of Culture… Voice of Knowledge” represents an important documentary reference that documents a pivotal stage in the history of cultural development in the emirate, and reflects the strategic vision that made culture and knowledge two basic pillars in the process of sustainable development, stressing that the publication comes in celebration of an accumulated cultural achievement that contributed to consolidating Fujairah’s position as a center for culture and arts and a platform for civilizational dialogue and human creativity.

The book includes a wide range of photos, documents and cultural archives that document the most prominent cultural and knowledge milestones during the years 2007-2026, providing an integrated account of the path of institutions and initiatives that contributed to building the cultural scene of the emirate and enhancing its presence at the national and international levels, making it an important reference for researchers and those interested in the history of the cultural movement in Fujairah and the United Arab Emirates.
